Miracles Through Hell

The story that came first.

A true story of Holocaust survival and intergenerational healing.

Miracles Through Hell cover

Survival was not the end of their story.

Miracles Through Hell tells the true story of my parents' survival during the Holocaust.

They came to America. They built a family. And like many survivors, they carried things they could not easily put into words.

I grew up inside that silence without understanding what it was doing to me.

Years later, researching and writing their story became the beginning of another journey: understanding what the trauma and silence of one generation can leave inside the next.

The Holocaust ended. Its human consequences did not.

Survivors carried them home. Families inherited them. Children grew up surrounded by memories they had never personally experienced.

Beyond the book

The story opened another door.

Miracles Through Hell began as an attempt to preserve my parents' story. In writing it, I began to recognize the silence that had shaped my childhood and the larger second-generation story that followed.

Alongside the book, this site brings together selected family history, second-generation writing, and related video work.
