Host a Conversation
Bring this conversation to your community.
The Destination We Are Choosing — a guided community conversation inspired by Echoes of History.
Many of us are feeling the same pressure. So why are we fighting each other?
This is a conversation many people are ready for but do not know how to begin.
What the program is
A 90-minute author-led community conversation that helps people name shared pressure, recognize how fear and blame divide us, and choose better patterns before division becomes normal.
It is not a lecture, a political debate, a Holocaust comparison program, or a book report.
The book provides the lens. The conversation creates the mirror.
Why host it?
- It gives people language for what they are already feeling.
- It creates a nonpartisan room for pressure, blame, division, and responsibility.
- It helps people move from anxiety and exhaustion toward reflection and action.
- It can bring together people who may explain the pressure differently, but still feel it.
Where it works
- Libraries and community centers
- Faith and interfaith groups
- Book clubs and civic groups
- Colleges, schools, and public forums
- Workplaces or leadership groups ready for a deeper conversation
Practical setup
A room built for conversation.
Length: 90 minutes
Preferred group: approximately 25–40 people
Larger groups: possible
Seating: circle or semi-circle when practical
The goal is not to create an audience looking at a lecturer. The goal is to create a room in which people can think and talk.
